Interactive robotic installation.
Hairmotion is an interactive robotic installation that engages visitors in a dialogue of body movements. The robot is designed as an abstract -non human looking- automaton that evokes associations with a living being purely via its movements. These movements consist of the constriction and expansion of a mechanical lung and the concomitant pneumatic actuation of its artificial hair. By interacting with the robot, the visitor explores the gestural significance of these movements and their relationship with the perceived personality, emotionality and liveliness of the machine.
